Hello Shores Families,
I know this email feels like it is WAY too early but it is very important for all of us to plan ahead to maximize the opportunity for our athletes to attend Junior Olympics. Shores must declare our JO’s entries without refund before April 15th. This email will include very important dates, link to team hotel, JO’s Deposit links and individual details that need to be addressed in advance. The team hotel is especially pressing as we have organized a courtesy block but we only have until June 14th 2023 to book before the block goes away. Keep in mind we only have 90 rooms per night and they always sell within 2 weeks.
Junior Olympics is a huge festival/national championship tournament that takes place at the end of everyone’s summer season. This is a super fun event where our teams get a chance to showcase all of the team growth throughout the year. San Diego Shores typically sends about 18 teams and we will send as many teams as kids want to go and who can qualify through our Regional Junior Olympic Qualifier that takes place in San Diego. The Junior Olympics is separated into 2 sessions. Session 1 is all the boy teams. Session 2 is all the girls plus 10U coed and 12U coed teams.

JUNIOR OLYMPICS DEPOSIT: Due by April 6th
This is a $200 non-refundable deposit that commits your athlete to being available for Regional Junior Olympics (qualifier) and Junior Olympics. We need this information to decide how many teams we have to enter. The remaining balance (approx. $400) will be required in the summer before JO’s.

Rooms not reserved by the end June 14th 2023 will be released from the hold block and returned to general inventory. On June 14th all rooms become non-refundable. I do recommend booking early as rooms will go quickly.
Parking will be $25 for overnight self-parking.
The group hotel rate per night is $219.
The hotel cancellation policy is - Rooms are non-refundable as of end of day June 14
· Reservation must be pre-paid 30 days (6.14.23) prior to the group’s arrival and is non-refundable.
· Please note your card will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.
· The hotel is unable to accept Debit/ATM cards as a form of payment for your reservation.
· Should the credit card on file for your reservation be declined, the reservation will automatically be cancelled.

Dates: Tuesday May 30th- Sunday June 4th.
Times: Tuesday-Friday 3pm-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am-9pm
Shores must submit rosters with zero changes by May 17th
High School Age: 16U, 18U
Dates: Monday June 12th - Sunday June 18th
Times: Monday- Sunday 7am-9pm
Shores must submit rosters with zero changes by May 31st
Junior Olympics 2023: Irvine/OC/LA
Session 1: 18U, 16U, 14U, 12U Boy teams.
Dates July 15-18
Mandatory All Club Meeting July 14th 8:00pm (team hotel)
First game as early as 7am July 15 and as late as 6pm July 18
Session 2: 18U, 16U, 14U, 12U, 10U Girls, 12U Coed, 10U Coed teams.
Dates July 20-23 (arrive July 19th)

USA Water Polo Important Details Checklist: Complete by March 30th
USA Water Polo Membership: Gold Membership is required
Club Affiliation: must be affiliated with San Diego Shores Water Polo Club #1156
Birthday Verification: Must be completed, can take as long as 2 weeks (DO NOW)
Photo ID: Make sure to have a recent, quality photo uploaded to USA Water Polo
Covid Waiver: must be Accepted
I know this is a bunch of information. The hotel block and the USA Water Polo details are the most pressing.
